BMW E30 Center Console Cup Holder with Hidden Storage - Initial assembly after receiving the product

When you receive your BMW E30 cupholder from us, it won't be fully assembled. We ship this product in two pieces so that we can use a smaller box and reduce shipping costs for you (otherwise, shipping would cost about double).

Assembly takes less than a minute.

First, confirm you received two parts:

1. The cupholder body with insert.
2. The cupholder base and sliding door assembly.

Next, you need to slide the base and sliding door assembly onto the cupholder body:

1. Flip the cupholder body upside down.
2. Align the guide rails of the base with the cup holder body.

Slide the base all the way to the front of the cupholder, and push past the resistance at the end of the track until you hear and feel a click.

This is what it looks like when it is locked in place:

This last step is optional, but recommended. 

Using a small screwdriver or your weapon of choice, push the two rear locking tabs in. When these tabs are bent down, they prevent the base from sliding backward.

Note: This is only possible on a "Standard" center console style cupholder, not on "Cassette" center console styles.
